7-11's Spaghetti with Chicken Strips

Not good at all. :(

The spaghetti sauce was sweet but watery. The chicken strips had very thin meat and more breading. It was though to chew after they microwaved it.

Waste of money, IMO.

7-11 Fried Chicken

I've been so lazy to look for new places to eat near my work. We usually have food delivered if everyone's present or if not, I opt to go to 7-11 and look for something decent to eat. I know you've heard raves about 7-11's fried chicken and to satisfy my curiousity, I tried it.

They're right, it's good! Crunchy, big and meaty for P65 (1-pc. chicken with rice). I liked that the skin was a li'l spicy which gives the chicken meat flavor and taste. It wasn't served that hot though even if it was placed inside a warmer. But anyway, still good. :D

Tenderloin Katsu

No, it's not Yabu. It's SABOTEN!

Sorry to say but I wasn't that impressed with Yabu, probably because I was able to try Saboten first? I found Saboten's katsu more flavorful, crunchier plus their sauce is yummier. :) We also tried their Rolled Tenderloin Katsu with cheese (and ham? or it that bacon?) and it's yummy too! Their cabbage tasted so fresh and good even without the dressing.

I'll definitely go back! ;)

Baked Macaroni

After trying out their Beef Lasagna, I got the Baked Macaroni on my next visit.

The sauce is Pinoy-style so expect a typically sweet meat sauce covering the macaroni noodles. I think, it's the same sauce they used for the lasagna. It has some sliced ham and topped with (not so) melted cheese. It's kinda good for P49. :)

Beef Lasagna

I often see these boxed meals at 7-11. Aside from the usual rice meals, they also have different kinds of pasta and sandwiches. For pasta, you can choose from Beef Lasagna, Mac & Cheese, Baked Macaroni, Tuna Casserole and Spaghetti with Chicken Strips. Two days ago, I decided to try their Beef Lasagna.

For P49, it wasn't bad at all. The sauce tastes so Pinoy... meaty enough and more on the sweet side. It was in between layers of lasagna noodles and topped with melted cheese. You can tell that the melted cheese was just the ordinary kind but kinda okay. I found the noodles too thick though. It comes with 2 pcs. garlic bread, I didn't touch it though. I was too hard coz they microwaved it with the pasta.

Yesterday I got one again (coz there weren't any other option left on their fridge), but I lacked sauce. There was a very thin layer of meat sauce in between the noodles so it lacked taste. I just hope they maintain consistency when they prepare their stuff.

Chicago Mix from Garrett's Popcorn

Popcorn is something I consider as a comfort food. Though I don't like the microwavable ones or those sold in the movie house, I'm a big fan of the sweet & salty kind. I like Holy Kettle Corn, Chef Tony and Kettle Korn, but my fave is GARRETT'S POPCORN.

I first discovered Garrett's in Universal Studios in Singapore. I ordered the Caramel Pecan Crisp and it was SO DAMN GOOD. Caramel popcorn with pecan nuts... oooohh perfect! Just a couple of months ago, someone gave me a small bag of Garrett's Chicago Mix popcorn. It's a mixture of cheese and caramel popcorn... hmmm, interesting!

I am not so fond of cheesy stuff but I liked this one! The sweet caramel and salty cheese flavor complements each other. It's not so nakakaumay unlike if you order a whole bag of caramel (though I don't mind, I love sweet stuff anyway). A small bag costs about P250+ if converted to our currency. Not bad coz it's good for sharing.

I wish we have Garrett's here. :( I tried Chicago Popcorn Shops in Greenbelt before but I found it uhmmm, just okay. Paging Garrett's Popcorn, please put up a branch in Manila!!! :)

Rodic's Tapa

Aside from Sinangag Express, Rodic's is a slightly new favorite go- to place for my tapsilog fix.

Their tapa is shredded on top of fried rice and served with a sunny side up. The beef is very tasty and best paired with spicy vinegar. Yummmm!!
