Moche (from Susie's Cuisine)

Susie's Cuisine is one of the famous pasalubong shop in Pampanga. They offer a wide variety of rice cakes like moche, biko, cassava, tibok-tibok and other pasalubong items.

Moche is one of the bestsellers and known kakanin (rice-based sweets) from Susie's. Friends told me never miss to sample this in case I get to visit that province. It is made from glutinous rice with red bean filling. It comes separately with coconut milk which you pour on top of the moche before you eat it.

This available for P250 for a bilao (which has 50 pieces) or per piece at P5. Since we're buying other goodies, we ordered 25 pieces of this just to sample.

I loved how the coconut milk added sweetness to the moche. It will taste kinda bland without it. I ate it straight from the fridge so the moche was chewy but not tough. Sorry I wasn't able to take a picture of the moche with coconut milk poured on top. I was just so excited to eat it, LOL!

Definitely, this is something you should try. Cheap yet yummy and filling! I guess your loved ones will love to receive it as pasalubong as well.

We call this delicacy "bibingkoy" in Cavite City and dates back pre-war era pa. The original has langka ang kaong in the sauce but now dahil cost cutting coconut milk and mini sago na lang. May ube din ba sila with coconut milk?
