I first encountered this restaurant when it was featured in
ClicktheCity.
Hyphy's is a restaurant owned by one of the well-known chefs in the Philippines, Chef Bruce Lim. His creations are usually unique and very interesting. Come to this restaurant and he'll prove it to you.
Hyphy's offer a wide variety of food choices and since I wanted to have pasta f or lunch, the
Malunggay Pesto and
Calamansi Tuyo Pasta were the first ones to catch my eye. I wanted to try something new so even if I do not eat salted fish, I was adventurous enough to try the
Calamansi Tuyo Pasta.
Spaghetti noodles sauteed in garlic oil with salted fish (or what Pinoys call
"tuyo") flakes, cheese, chili flakes and calamansi.
I find the
tuyo too salty so I didn't really eat the fish on top, I guess the flakes tossed in the pasta is enough for me. It was flavorful; the saltiness of the fish mixed well with the calamansi and the chili flakes gave it added spice. I just hope they lessen the oil since it becomes noticeable as it settles at the bottom of the dish.
They also gave me complimentary garlic fries... nice one! I have to commend their staff for being nice and attentive as well. Two thumbs up for great service.
I would love to try the other items on the menu. Prices aren't steep which makes it more encouraging to come back. More branches for Hyphy's, please!! :)
2 shout-outs:
wow, pasta! everything looks so yummy!
I tried the Bolgnese ala Cubana and these chicken lettuce wraps. Sarap! Looking forward to featuring them soon! :)
