Gong Cha's Winter Melon Milk Tea

It's my first time to try the milk teas sold in the different milk tea shops all over the metro. I'm curious about Gong Cha so I decided to try it out first since there's one in the mall where I went to the the other day.

It usually has a long line of customers but luckily, it just opened when I went there so I was just the 3rd person in line. No need to wait for so long! I ordered one of the best sellers, the House Special Winter Melon milk tea.

I didn't have any idea what winter melon was (oh yeah, LOL!) but then since it's a best seller, I decided to be adventurous enough to try it. Since it's my first time, I ordered the medium size just to be safe (since there's a possibility that I might not like it). I didn't put any add-ons because I wanted to try the drink just by itself. I asked the girl at the counter to put less sugar but she told me they really do not put sugar on the winter melon tea. Okay then...

I was expecting a bitter aftertaste from the tea but then I was surprised that it didn't have any at all! The milk had the right amount of creaminess and won't make you have the umay factor after finishing the drink.

I totally loved this! It's a very refreshing drink! I guess I'll be off to try the other drinks from Gong Cha as well as the other milk tea shops so I can compare. :)

Before you mix the 3 layers, make sure you sip each layer bottom up. and then mix it. You'll love the change of flavors. :P

@J: that's ice. I didn't put any add-on to the drink.

This is my fave Gong Cha order! :) Their plain milk tea tastes good too, even at 50% sugar. And I like their milk tea with herbal jelly too. Btw, I've recently tried their Earl Grey Milk Tea and I guess this one is more for the tea lovers (which I am) as the taste is really tamed and clean.
