I love eating but I never learned how to cook. Whenever I'd find interesting recipes, I'd usually tell my mom or our helper about it so they can try cooking it. The only thing I can cook before are pancakes, instant noodles, fried food (sunny side up, hotdogs, bacon, canned goods, etc.) or those that you just throw in the pan with some oil and wait until it browns.
But out of boredom the other day, I tried one recipe I found online-- Sinigang na Corned Beef. I saw the recipe from
Sweet's Sweet blog and it seemed so easy.
Since I cannot find kangkong or string beans in our fridge, I opted not to put any veggies anymore. Other ingredients I used were a can of Purefood corned beef, Knorr Sinigang Mix, onions and tomatoes.
First, saute the onions and tomatoes then add the corned beef. Add water and allow it to simmer. Add sinigang mix. Simmer for about 5 minutes then you can add veggies if you want. After it boils, you can remove it from the heat then serve.
I had it for lunch and surprisingly tastes good. I love how sour it was! I had some leftovers so I asked my family to judge it during dinner and got a nod of approval as well. YEY! I know it's super easy for those who can really cook so pardon me for being so proud about it. LOL. Now this encourages me more to try other recipes. Let's take it one step at a time.

I didn't know corned beef can be used for sinigang, this ain't bad for something that you did the first time.
I heard about this dish before, but I haven't tried cooking it at home. Our family loves sinigang and corned beef, but we haven't really tried putting the two together in one dish.
